Abstract

This report is the edited notes of a series of lectures used to develop a substantial capability in the essential and fundamental concepts and techniques in probability and statistics. The student was introduced first to set theory and logic, then probability theory, and finally to processes, random variables, and elements of sampling theory. Examples and illustrations are included to clarify theory and technique.
