MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF AEROSPACE STRUCTURAL ALLOYS UNDER BIAXIAL- STRESS CONDITIONS

Abstract

This report is concerned with the mechanical properties of metals under biaxial-stress conditions. First, there is presented a discussion of the fundamentals of biaxial-stress systems; this is followed by descriptions and critical evaluations of various types of biaxial-stress tests, the associated test specimens, biaxial-stress property criteria, and data presentation for Military-Handbook-5. The major portion of the report is devoted to the graphical presentation of biaxial-stress property data from various published and unpublished sources. (Author)
