A SYSTEMS ANALYSIS OF POLITICS: A MATHEMATICAL APPROACH.

Abstract

Certain aspects of political functioning are investigated through the use of mathematical systems analysis techniques. Formal relationships are developed with respect to some of the elementary functions involved in politics. These relationships involve society and the political system in terms of demands, decisions and stress. Further, the concepts of communications and specialization are introduced as means of enhancing the ability of the political system to make satisfying decisions. The functioning of the system is analyzed in its steady state and a comparison is made with and without the introduction of lag time. (Author)
