DYNAMIC GAS FILM ACCELEROMETER STUDY. PART I. DEVELOPMENT AND TEST PROGRAM.

Abstract

The basic objective of this program was to apply the Dynamic Gas Film concept to inertial instruments as a physically noncontacting suspension system. An analysis phase demonstrated the feasibility of the approach in terms of load support and minimum error sources. An accelerometer was fabricated and underwent testing which demonstrated performance well within anticipated goals.
