EXPLORATORY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM TO PROVE THE FEASIBILITY OF SOLID STATE SWITCHING FOR A COMPLEX ELECTRICAL CONTROL NETWORK.

Abstract

This report discusses the program to investigate, design, develop, and evaluate a solid state switching concept for the main landing gear position sensing and indicator system for the XC-142 aircraft. The proposed system will utilize solid state devices in place of make-and-break contacts in all of the functions required in the system; i.e., position sensing, control logic, and control of power to the indicators.
