RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OF MICROWAVE TUBES AND DEVICES.

Abstract

The investigation of plasmas utilizing computer techniques to investigate the feasibility of utilizing plasmas for beam focusing and beam stopping is continuing. During the last interval the case of the electron diode with depressed collector was completed. Present work is centered on investigation of rf phenomena due to beam plasma interactions. Noise spectra exists in argon gas in the several micron pressure ranges and for kilovolt beams at frequencies from 0 to about 1000 McS. Examination of the spectra shows the existence of at least several types of interactions. (Author)
