ACQUISITION, ANALYSIS AND PRESENTATION OF TREND DATA.

Abstract

Trend data are described as that portion of the data which tends to establish a pattern forming the basis of prediction. Thus, the term trend carries with it the connotation of continuation into the future. The acquisition Analysis and Presentation of Trend Data are defined as the elements of the Trend Data System which is presented as a method of using past data to provide prediction of future performance, reliability parameters and the probability of mission success. Trend predictions during the course of a mission can also provide the basis for mission control decisions. The Trend Data System's impact on program requirements of test and test data are emphasized. The system, applicable to a general program, is defined as to data collection, data storage and retrieval, analysis techniques and data presentation. An appendix is also provided which lists some possible trend prediction measurements and parameters. (Author)
