CORUNDUM-GLASS COUPLINGS (JOINTS).

Abstract

Within the framework of investigations carried out by the Faculty of Electronic Instruments of the Warsaw Polytechnicum over infrared type of radiation detectors PbTe was developed the technology of joints of corundum-glass. Corundum windows were joined with the detector casing made from 'Termisil' glass by combining glass C-79, C-80 and G-20; joining of corundum with glass at a temperature of about 880 C was realized by two methods in an electric furnace and in a gas-oxygen burner, the processing time was considerably reduced and the quality of the joints has been improved.
