NAVY ACRE UNDERWAY.

Abstract

U. S. Naval Oceanographic Office personnel planted 5 current temperature and pressure sensing arrays in 2860 to 2950 fathoms of water centered on 33 deg 30 min N 71 deg 30 min W. An attempt to plant two Scripps Institute of Oceanography Catamaran temperature sensing arrays was unsuccessful due to line of failure. All NAVOCEANO sensors are self recording with sampling intervals of 15 minutes to one hour. These arrays are scheduled for recovery at the rate of one per day from 28 August through 1 September 1966 within water times varying from 43 to 45 days. (Author)
