STAGE 64: SORTIE PROGRAMMER USERS AND OPERATORS MANUAL.
Abstract
The Sortie Programmer is a digital computer program designed as a tool for use in planning sorties for global air war. Its major use is aiding the preparation of sortie plans for large computer simulations of such an air war. In this context a description is given of the meaning and detailed form of the data required as input to the Sortie Programmer. The relation between construction of that data and the planner's intent is discussed. The exact form and the significance of the output of the program is documented, particularly that output which aids the planners in correcting and evaluating the sortie plans. Computer operation is described in detail, and procedures for applying the Sortie Programmer are suggested.
