A SURVEY OF TERRESTRIAL MOBILITY TECHNIQUES FOR APPLICATION TO EXPLORATION OF LUNAR AND PLANETARY SURFACES,

Abstract

This report is a review and bibliography of earth and lunar locomotion theory, terrain classification and mapping techniques, model terrain, model vehicle-terrain systems, and vehicle performance. Excerpts of some of the significant comments, equations, and graphs related to mobility analysis are included. The listed reports record the results of the efforts of many engineers and scientists to produce better off-the-road vehicles for moving men and equipment over the unprepared surfaces of the earth, moon, and the planets.
