Ballistic Data for Flat Fire

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to exhibit a new form of the Hitchcock-Kent Siacci treatment of flat fire ballistics. This form has proved convenient in certain aircraft-fire computation. The principal feature of the new form is that time of flight and drop are tabulated directly as functions of distance along the line of fire. (''Ground coordinates'' are used.) Two ''Siacci trajectories'' and interpolation suffice to give, with fair accuracy, ballistic data for forward fire from aircraft for all airspeeds and densities.
