WELDABILITY TESTS OF HIGH TENSILE STEEL (LUKENS STEEL COMPANY) BUSHIPS WELDING TEST NO. 325,

Abstract

Four steels of the manganese titanium-treated type have been studied as to their relative weldability. All four steels showed cracking in the heat affected zone. It is suggested that this behavior is due to the fact that the weld deposit has a much higher transformation temperature than the base metal. (Author)
