DEVELOPMENT OF HIGH SPEED AERODYNAMIC HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENTS FOR FLAT PLATES AND CONES,

Abstract

The boundary layer on a flat plate for laminar and turbulent flow with an analysis of a current method to calculate aerodynamic heat transfer coefficients are presented. Specific heat variations of gas with temperatures up to dissociation are included with the aerodynamic heat transfer coefficient in a transient temperature digital program. The boundary layer and aerodynamic heat transfer coefficients developed for a flat plate may be applied to cone surfaces with the correction factors indicated in this report. (Author)
