A FORTRAN SUBROUTINE TO CALCULATE SHAPE AND LOCATION OF DETACHED SHOCK WAVES.

Abstract

Moeckel's approximate method to calculate standoff distance and shape of a detached shock is derived for plane and axi-symmetric flow. The method is also valid for two-dimensional bodies at an angle of attack. Moeckel's method is simple and yields reasonable results. An IBM 1410 computer program (SP-24) was used to evaluate this procedure for a wide range of parameters. (Author)
