Effect of Charge Radius on Detonation Velocity.

Abstract

An approximate treatment of the effect of radial expansion on the velocity of propagation of a detonation wave has been previously suggested and certain semi-empirical correlations considered. An analytical discussion of the quantitative implications of this theory is attempted and the resulting final equations are given, together with certain auxiliary functions necessary for application to experimental data. The significant approximations involved are discussed in terms of possible refinements in the treatment. (Author)
