Abstract

On 2 October 1951 the Proving Ground received a 5 in./38 Caliber Twin Mount Mark 38 Mod 3 for tests of the elevation and train power drives Mark 41. These power drives have main power motors utilizing 950 volt, 400 cycle electric current and controls utilizing 115 volt, 400 cycle current. The object of the tests was to determine whether these power drives would conform to the requirements of accuracy, during gunfire, specified in NAVORD O.S. 6006.
