Basic Transmission Line Theory for Electromagnetic Interference Analysis,

Abstract

This report is a continuation of the basic theory outlined in another report published simultaneously by the same author entitled 'Introductory Background Theory for Electromagnetic Interference Analysis.' Whereas that report was concerned with wave propagation in general, this report covers only propagation over a line. The symbols used are identical to those of the previous report, and units, likewise, are in the rationalized MKS system. Three Appendices are included on the representation of sinusoids, hyperbolic functions and the solution of the transmission line basic differential equation. (Author)
