Examination of Unfired 85 mm, APHE-T, Complete Round of Soviet Ammunition, Mod. UBR-365K, FMAM-2175.

Abstract

One loaded and fuzed complete round of Soviet 85 mm, APHE-T, Ammunition was subjected to technical examination. The complete round consists of a base-fuzed, uncapped, armor-piercing projectile, with tracer, assembled in a primed brass cartridge case. The projectile is loaded with a high explosive bursting charge. The cartridge case contains a coil of soft lead wire, two closing cups, a cylindrical distance wad, a short percussion primer, and propellent powder packed loosely in a bag. The bag has a quilted section on the bottom containing a loose black powder igniter charge. (Author)
