Torpedo Mark 43 Mod 0 (Production Design) Resistance and Propulsion Characteristics,

Abstract

The Bureau of Ordnance requested the David Taylor Model Basin to design a propeller for and to conduct hydrodynamic tests to evaluate the powering characteristics of the Mark 43 Mod 0 (Production Design) torpedo. Resistance and propulsion tests were carried out on the torpedo as designed. The results of the resistance measurements are given. Propulsion tests were made with each of two propellers. The results of the propulsion tests are given.
