Sodium Perchlorate: Research Leading Toward the Development of Selected Methods to Produce Sodium Perchlorate without the Use of Platinum.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to investigate methods for production of sodium perchlorate without the use of platinum; to include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following: (1) the use of anodes comprising silicon - silicon carbide; (2) the use of lead dioxide coated anodes; and (3) the disproportionation of sodium chlorate in acid solution.
