Lessons Learned, Headquarters, 173d Airborne Brigade

Abstract

During the report period, the 173d Airborne Brigade continued to conduct combat operations aimed at locating and destroying North Vietnamese and Viet Cong forces and installations in the Republic of Vietnam. The Brigade also conducted pacification operations designed to safeguard the village areas and gradually turn over full responsibility to the Vietnamese themselves. As United States Army Vietnam's reserve, the Brigade remained alert to quickly and forcefully respond to any enemy threat and meet any assigned mission. The 173d Airborne Brigade's civic action program continued to play a primary role in the Brigade's efforts to help the people of Vietnam help themselves.
