A Program for Computing Intercept Time of a Polygon Bomb with Conical Fuze.

Abstract

This project deals with a polygon bomb, the fuze signals of which can be represented by a rear looking radar cone centered on the bomb's longitudinal axis. The object is to determine the bomb's position with respect to a truss-bridge target at the instant the fuze cone first intercepts a target member. In the model used here, the target is regarded as consisting of a finite number of straight line segments, each of which is designated as a bridge member. The algorithm is presented in a computing form of 75 lines, and a specimen case is fully worked out. (Author)
