Resource Allocations for the RVN Army, Regional Force, and Popular Force: FY 69.

Abstract

Resource allocations in support of the RVN Army, Regional Force, and Popular Force in the RVN for FY69 are identified. The study traces the flow and interrelation of the resources made available from sources to end use in support of the forces studied. US Army sources are identified to the level of supporting Budget Program. The cost of each force is estimated by examining the resource implications of activities such as deployment, provision of materiel, operations, maintenance, training, construction, and pay and allowances. A comparison is made of the time-phased costs of each force by source and activity and significant high-cost items. The lag between prior-year materiel programs and FY69 deliveries is identified in terms of dollar value related to generic codes. Data on RVN land-combat forces for the period FY68-FY69 are included.
