Lessons Learned, Headquarters, 93d Military Police Battalion.
Abstract
During the reporting period the 93d Military Police Battalion's area of responsibility extended from the Cambodian border on the west to the South China Sea on the east; from the First Military Region southern border to the southern boundaries of the provinces of Phu Yen, Phu Bon and Pleiku. There are five provinces in the 93d Military Police Battalion's area of responsibility; Binh Dinh, Pleiku, Kontum, Phu Bon, and Phu Yen. The 93d Military Police Battalion assumed a large role during the Cambodian operation, extending its operations to cover highways 509 and QL-19 from Pleiku west to the border. This Battalion assisted in moving the 2/1 Cavalry from LST Beach in Qui Nhon to their staging areas along the Cambodian border. Companies of the Battalion were involved in 62 ambushes while performing 2,285 convoy escorts covering over 175,287 road miles in support of the operation; establishing checkpoints, staging areas and convoy marshalling points.
