Analysis of Insurgent Incidents in Thailand.

Abstract

A general survey is made on the data collected by the Village Information System, Thailand project. Principal component analysis and principal factor analysis data reduction techniques are applied to the data for selected areas in northeast Thailand and the results are compared. Algebraic models are applied to a selected variable of the data and forecasting techniques applied to each model to predict the value of the variable in the next time period. Conclusions are presented concerning the operational usefulness of the analytical techniques applied to the data. (Author)
