SYFO Plasticizer Pilot Process.

Abstract

A 12-month program was undertaken to manufacture and deliver 175 pounds of the energetic plasticizer, SYFO. A small-scale plant, capable of producing approximately 1/2 pound of SYFO per hour, was set up and operated. Total delivered production was 187 pounds of SYFO with a purity of approximately 90%. Several process improvements were developed which make it possible to scale up to higher production rates if needed. (Author)
