Calibration of the ARTEMIS Source and Receiving Array on the Mission Capistrano

Abstract

Calibration of the ARTEMIS source and receiving array on the MISSION CAPISTRANO was performed in 1970 prior to the termination of the project. Descriptions of the source and receiving system, the tests which were performed, including instrumentation used, and test results are presented. Results include transmitting response of the source from 1 to 100 amperes in the band of interest, fourteen vertical beam patterns, a horizontal on-axis beam pattern and the receiving array sensitivities and array gains.
