ELECTRON INTERACTIONS IN CRYOGENIC HELIUM PLASMAS.

Abstract

Electron interactions in decaying helium afterglow plasmas, maintained near 5 K, were determined from electronic microwave conductivity measurements. Experiments were performed for neutral densities in the range 2 x 10 to the 17th power 1.2 x 10 to the 19th power atoms/cc. Concurrently, electron temperatures were inferred from microwave noise radiation from the afterglow plasma and microwave interaction measurements. (Author)
