GENERAL ELECTROPHYSIOLOGY.

Abstract

This book is intended for physiologists and physicians who use electrophysiological methods in laboratory and clinical practice, graduate students, and undergraduates at medical institutes and in biology departments. The physiochemical nature of bioelectric potentials is considered, the contemporary theoretical concept of these potentials are presentd, and the mass of data obtained during the past 20 years by intracellular recording of electrical potentials is described. A great deal of attention is given to the functional importance of bioelectric potentials in the activity of the nervous system.
