Abstract

The numerical solution of a system of linear first-order ordinary differential equations with given initial conditions can be complicated by the fact that the real parts of the eigenvalues may be significantly different. It is shown in this Memorandum that the use of the Laplace transform and numerical inversion offers an attractive palliative to this problem. (Author)
