GAS-SOLID FLOW.

Abstract

Studies concern basic aspects of gas-solid suspensions: (1) Thermodynamic properties of a gas-solid system, additional irreversibility in momentum transfer, and the meaning of total pressure; (2) consideration of rigorous solution of problems of gas-solid flow and application of momentum integral method to laminar boundary layer motion to determine the velocity and concentration distribution of the solid phase with correlation in terms of a gas-solid momentum number, N sub m; (3) effect of electric charges on flow over a solid wall and correlation in terms of electric Reynolds number and a new electro-viscous number, N sub ev; and (4) effect of solid particles on mixing length of turbulence.
