IRRADIATION EFFECTS ON STRUCTURAL MATERIALS.

Abstract

Progress is veported on the NRL Metallurgy Division program for the study of the effects of neutron irradiation upon the properties of structural materials. The report describes new data on the effects of several experimental variables on the observed recovery of properties of irradiated steels, the notch ductility of the SL-1 reactor pressure vessel, results of neutron environmental survey of the SM-1A reactor and new equipment and procedures for in-reactor experimentation and for postirradiation evaluation of irradiated materials.
