DYNAMIC DESIGN-ANALYSIS PROGRAM FOR THE SHOCK DESIGN OF SHIPBOARD EQUIPMENT.

Abstract

The mathematical analysis of a lumped parameter system and the solution for the natural frequencies and normal modes of the system are discussed. Formulas for obtaining effective static forces, maximum displacements and reactions, and effective masses are also presented. Instructions for obtaining computation services at the Applied Mathematics Laboratory, David Taylor Model Basin, and specifications for needed data are included as well as suggestions on the use of the program at other installations.
