VENTILATION OF PARTS OF THE LUNG WITH CHEMICALS AND GASES IN AQUEOUS SOLUTION.

Abstract

The feasibility of washing a lobe of the lungs with aqueous solutions of biological or chemical substances was demonstrated. The ability to obtain a high concentration of antibiotic for a long period was proven. Mixing and sampling problems were evaluated and found to constitute no obstacle. Adverse effects on the dog were not encountered.
