LINGUISTIC AND ENGINEERING ASPECTS OF AUTOMATIC SPEECH RECOGNITION.

Abstract

Automatic speech recognition is viewed in terms of three sets of factors: the acoustic environment, the context of the sounds to be recognized, and the sounds themselves. The particular problems presented by each of these factors is surveyed briefly.
