PERFORMANCE RECORD OF MOORED BUOY SYSTEMS.

Abstract

From December, 1960, to the present, one hundred twentysix Richardson-type buoy stations have been set. The recoveries and losses are herein recorded, and the causes of failure and life expectancy are treated in some detail. It is believed that most of the failures have been due to biological attack; evidence in support of this theory is presented. (Author)
