RESEARCH ON THE MECHANISM OF ABLATION OF POLYMERIC MATERIALS.

Abstract

The char layer was chosen as a restricted model of a charforming ablation resin. The equations governing heat and mass transfer into and out of this model were developed, and solution of these equations is in progress. An experimental program was developed around a simulated char layer. The apparatus and proposed experiments are described. (Author)
