THEORY AND APPLICATION OF QUALIFICATION TESTING PLANS FOR MUNITION DISPERSION,

Abstract

This report illustrates the mathematical and statistical development of fixed and sequential sampling plans which could be used for qualification testing of munition dispersion. The theoretical development given is based upon the assumption that the dispersion of munition impacts is characterized by a circular normal distribution. Certain well known results for the circular error probability (CEP) are generalized to permit the treatment of impact percentages other than the conventional fifty percent. Numerical examples for various fixed and sequential sampling plans are provided. (Author)
