OBSERVATIONS OF WHISTLERS AND VLF-EMISSIONS AT GODHAVN AND NARSSARSSUAQ, GREENLAND AND AT TROMSO, NORWAY IN 1962.

Abstract

This report presents the whistler and VLF-emissions data from Godhavn, Narssarssuaq, and Tromso for the year 1962. Whistler are found most frequent to occur simultaneously at Godhavn and Narssarssuaq situated 1000 km apart. Polar chorus is found to occur at all 3 stations at approximately the same geomagnetic time. The polar chorus observed at GO and NA simultaneously is found to be identical in all details in the structure. Hiss seems to be correlated with sporadic E and magnetic disturbances. (Author)
