LITHIUM-NICKEL HALIDE SECONDARY BATTERY INVESTIGATION.
Abstract
The work is concerned with electrolyte conductivities, positive and negative electrode preparations, and half cell studies. The half cell studies show that as the NiCl2 (the charged positive material) is reduced to Ni the polarization of this electrode decreases. The polarization of the negative electrode, on the other hand, increases as the electrochemical reaction results in the progressive change of Li into Li Cl. The latter can be reduced by the incorporation of a conductive diluent. (Author)
