PROPAGATION IN A WAVEGUIDE WITH GLIDE REFLECTION SYMMETRY.

Abstract

An exact formulation of the boundary value problem for an iris loaded infinite periodic waveguide with glide reflection symmetry has been obtained. Only the TM type of waves have been considered, and slot walls have been assumed to be vanishingly thin. An infinite set of equations for various space harmonic amplitudes and the propagation constant as unknown have been derived. The approximate determinantal equation for the propagation constant has been obtained from the above infinite set of equations, under the assumption that the slot width is small compared to free space wavelengths and the slot depth.
