ACOUSTIC RADIATION FROM A FINITE CYLINDER NUMERICAL RESULTS

Abstract

In an earlier report we presented an approximate method for calculating the sound field of a cylinder of finite length. In this method the field,which can be represented exactly by an infinite series expansion in terms of spherical wave functions, is approximated instead by the finite series for the axially symmetric case to be considered.
