SUPERREGENERATION IN A CAVITY-TYPE PARAMETRIC AMPLIFIER.

Abstract

The feasibility and characteristics of superregeneration in a low-noise cavity-type parametric amplifier are examined both theoretically and experimentally. Equations describing the operation of the parametric circuit are treated as nonlinear differential equations. Under infinite-Q assumption, an exact solution in the form of an almost exponential function is obtained. For the finite-Q case, the growth constant of oscillation would be determined approxi mately and then the oscillation voltages are expressed in analytical forms.
