OPTICAL MEASUREMENTS ON CONES AND CYLINDERS.

Abstract

The results of a series of laboratory measurements of the intensity of light reflected from cylinders, cones, and from frustums of cones, are summarized and compared with theoretical calculations. Targets of various lengths are considered for angles of incidence ranging from near-normal to neargrazing. In addition, we illustrate the use of small receiving apertures, photographs, and densitometer readings, for investigating some of the effects of surface conditions. (Author)
