THEORETICAL ERROR ANALYSIS OF THE SCF AUGMENTED DOPPLER TRACKING SYSTEM.

Abstract

This study determines how accurately the 375/400 Mc Doppler Tracking System, presently implemented in the augmented SCF network, can theoretically be expected to perform. A theoretical analysis and evaluation is presented of all known errors associated with equipment performance parameters, data conversion processes, and data interpretation. Representative low, medium, and high altitude orbits are considered in order to demonstrate how the calculated errors will vary throughout the full range of orbital altitudes of interest. (Author)
