HIGH TEMPERATURE PHENOMENA IN HYPERSONIC FLOWS.

Abstract

The report summarizes the results of a program of research on high temperature phenomena in hypersonic flows. The topics included in the program are shock tunnel studies of air flows over slender cones, theoretical and experimental investigations of nonequilibrium inviscid air flows, and studies of surface catalysis in nonequilibrium flows. The main results in each of these studies are reviewed. (Author)
