STANNOUS FLUORIDE TOPICALLY APPLIED IN AQUEOUS SOLUTION IN CARIES PREVENTION IN A MILITARY POPULATION,

Abstract

The effectiveness of a topical application of 10% stannous fluoride as an inhibitor of carious lesions in a military population was assessed from the changes in tooth surfaces determined from year-apart examinations. Treatment reduced the number of new lesions on occlusal surfaces during the year of observation. No treatment effect was observed for the other two surface types. (Author)
