Teleconferencing: Preliminary Experiments

Abstract

As part of the Teleconferencing Project a laboratory facility was set up to enable the project personnel to observe directly a variety of teleconferencing arrangements. Overall objectives of this phase of the study were: (a) to assess the feasibility of laboratory experimentation in a later project on teleconferencing, and (b) to provide direct experience which would assist us in defining problems for later research. The facility, the types of questions posed in the laboratory studies, and the results of these observations are described.
