EXCITED LEVELS OF N15 AND O15.

Abstract

The theory of 1p-shell energy levels is reviewed, with particular emphasis on calculations for N15 and O15. The effect of the relative strengths of space and spin-exchange forces and the spin-orbit force are discussed. Experimental data on the level structures of N15 and O15 are compared with each other and with theory. Particular emphasis is placed upon spin and parity assignments for the first eleven levels in O15. Gaps and discrepancies are pointed out and suggestions made as to means for their resolution.
